Small groups should offer something extra that we cannot achieve in \u00a0regular congregational meetings. Whatever the small group objectives may be, the most important purpose of a small group, in our opinion, is GROWING AS INDIVIDUALS, TOGETHER! There are two factors which we believe to be key in achieving this and which should form the foundation of small groups before we jump straight into Bible study.\u00a0One is sharing the questions we have about biblical texts and going deeper into what God has for us in the bible and the other is praying for and supporting each other in our walk with Jesus.<\/p>\n<p>Contact <a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/people\/duncan-beet\/\">Duncan Beet<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/childrens-groups\/\">Children&#8217;s Ministry<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>We have a number of weekly groups both in and out of church.\u00a0 They include groups for toddlers as well as children up to school year 6.\u00a0 \u00a0In addition we hold a summer holiday club and follow up sessions covering different festivals.\u00a0 Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/childrens-groups\/\">this link for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/childrens-groups\/youth-groups\/\">\u00a0Youth Groups<\/a><\/h2>\n<p>Currently we offer three different groups for young people from from Year 7 upwards. These run in term time and look at the Christian faith in different\u00a0 ways.\u00a0 Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/childrens-groups\/youth-groups\/\">this link for more information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Baptism Preparation<\/h2>\n<p>There are two baptism preparation sessions which are run by The rector, Duncan Beet and the curate, Heather Hall.\u00a0 They will come to your home at a mutually convenient time, usually in an evening when children are asleep (hopefully!) \u00a0Duncan and Heather will go through the baptism service with you, helping you to explore what is involved with it.\u00a0 Each session will last less than an hour.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Christianity Explored<\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once or twice a year we run Christianity Explored sessions.\u00a0 Christianity Explored does exactly what it says on the tin.\u00a0 It\u2019s an informal way of\u00a0 investigating the Christian faith.\u00a0 It explores who Jesus was, what his aims wer<span style=\"background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 16px;\">e, and what it means to follow him.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">No prior\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">knowledge or faith is assumed.\u00a0 You&#8217;re not asked to pray, sing, or read aloud, and you ca<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">n ask any question you like. Or, if you prefer, you\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1em;\">can come along and simply listen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Contact <a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/people\/duncan-beet\/\">Duncan Beet<\/a> for more information<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Funeral ministry<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>At the heart of every funeral led by a Church of England minister is the good news of God\u2019s love for every unique human being. Each service is designed to reflect that love alongside the story of a particular life.<\/p>\n<p>There are so many choices that can help to make the service personal, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Where it happens \u2013 at a crematorium, in a church, at a green burial site, in a funeral director\u2019s chapel<\/li>\n<li>The structure of the day \u2013 where the service begins, whether the funeral will move from one location to another and where things will finish.<\/li>\n<li>The choice of coffin and transport<\/li>\n<li>Flowers<\/li>\n<li>Personal items at the service, such as photos or memorabilia<\/li>\n<li>Music and hymns \u2013 sung by congregations or soloists or recordings<\/li>\n<li>Readings \u2013 poetry, from friends, and the whole Bible to choose from!<\/li>\n<li>A tribute or eulogy \u2013 shared by family and friends, or read on your behalf by the minister<\/li>\n<li>Prayers and reflection \u2013 you could contribute and special interests of your loved one can be shared<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your funeral director will usually organise the basic arrangements and you can then discuss the finer points with Duncan our rector.\u00a0 Contact <a href=\"https:\/\/scsparishchurches.uk\/index.php\/people\/duncan-beet\/\">Duncan Beet<\/a> for more information the service.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--vcv no format--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Family Ministry We aim to minister to as wide a range of groups within the church and the local community as possible.\u00a0 Below are the main areas we cover.
